关于 HowToGetAlong
HowToGetAlong (人情世故指南) is a Chinese-language guide to the social skills school rarely teaches: how to cooperate, ask for help, say no, deal with money between friends, behave at dinners and handle conflict. It is written for university students and people in their first jobs.
What's inside
10 chapters and 77 scenarios, for example:
- Campus: classmates who keep asking for help, unclear group-project roles, being asked to sign in for someone.
- Asking for help: requesting a reference letter, following up, backing out of a promise.
- Internships and work: extra tasks, clashing deadlines, criticism, mistakes, office gossip.
- Money and friends: lending, late repayment, splitting bills, gift money over budget.
- Dinners, privacy and conflict: toasts, declining drinks, posting group photos, nosy questions.
- Long-term relationships and boundaries, etiquette, collaboration, family and partners, and job hunting through to leaving a job.
Each entry covers what to judge first, how to prepare, concrete steps, sample phrases, likely outcomes, the cost of the choice and exceptions. All entries are experience-based advice, not research findings, and the author asks readers to adapt them to their own situation.
