About CodeRabbit
CodeRabbit reviews pull requests with AI. Install the app on a GitHub or GitLab repository and every new PR gets a plain-language summary and walkthrough, then line-by-line comments with committable fix suggestions. You can reply to the bot in the PR to ask questions or correct it, and it remembers those "learnings" for future reviews.
What it does
- Review: automatic PR reviews, plus reviews before you push from the CLI or IDE and inside coding-agent loops, so agents like Codex can fix what it flags.
- Checks: built-in and custom pre-merge checks (PR title, description template, docstring coverage and your own rules), and detection of low-quality AI-generated PRs.
- Explain: structured change summaries and a semantic diff that shows what really changed.
- Triage (Team plan and up): a cross-repository PR queue ranked by value, urgency and risk, including in Slack.
- Secure (Advanced plan and up): security reviews on PRs and continuous monitoring, plus an on-demand full-codebase Deep Scan.
Review tone can be set to Quiet, Chill or Assertive, and it integrates with Jira and Linear.
Pricing
As of October 2026, public repositories are reviewed free, forever: sign in with GitHub or GitLab and install it on a public repo. Private repositories need a paid plan (Essentials, Team, Advanced or Enterprise, billed per developer who opens PRs), and there is a free trial.
Who it's for
Teams that want a first-pass reviewer on every PR, and open-source maintainers, who get it at no cost.
